About the project

The "Sensory SYNAPSES" project was realized during my a scholarship funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. I created 8 new ceramic sculptures, which are a continuation of my master  thesis.  All the sculptures these are sensory sculptures which means that they have an impact on the senses: sight, touch, hearing, smell  and even taste and that they can be used in the therapy of people with autism and Asperger’s syndrome.

My works: master thesis  and scholarship’s work are the result of the experiences that I have collected over the past 4.5 years. They were both experience in therapeutic work with people with autism and Asperger's syndrome  and sculptural experience collected at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

The combination of these two different worlds, different methods of sensory perception of the world by neurotypical people and people with ASD could result in the form of 5 new sensory sculptures located at the headquarters of the SYNAPSIS Foundation and 3 sculptures in the garden, which belongs to the social enterprise SYNAPSIS Foundation at Wilcza Góra.

During this project, some wards and staff of the SYNAPSIS Foundation helped me with filling the moulds and fixing the sculptures. Once again, thank you very much!
